Since the launch of our first ground-breaking Coordinate Measuring Machine, the best-selling Axiom, Aberlink have earned a global reputation for producing a range of affordable CMMs and Optical Measuring Systems - recognised internationally for quality, accuracy, robustness, speed and ease of use.

From our headquarters in Eastcombe, Gloucestershire, England we are engaged in every aspect of providing industry with innovative metrology products that are reliable, cost effective and above all easy to use. Through our distributor network in over 40 countries worldwide we provide all sectors of manufacturing with world class sales and aftercare service.

Aberlink's products and services provide customers with remarkable value for money. This has been achieved by producing a fully self-contained business model from day one. Because we machine all the components for the machines ourselves, we understand the manufacturing process fully, and clever design for-manufacture ensures simple and reliable products with no redundant costs. All assembly of the machines is performed on-site in Gloucestershire, where the software is also written in-house. We are a fully integrated company with minimal external costs and that is why we are able to offer the amazing value for which Aberlink has become renowned throughout the world.

Timeline of significant events

1993

Aberlink formed by Gavin Bailey and Marcus Eales with aspirations of making coordinate metrology accessible and affordable to all.

1995

DTI Smart Award gives the fledgling Aberlink a cash injection.

1998

Aberlink launch their first CMM to market, the manual Axiom - complete with an early version of the in-house written Aberlink 3D measurement software.

2002

The fully automatic, Maxim CNC CMM is launched.

2004

Following the success of the original Axiom and drawing upon the technology used in the Maxim, the Axiom too is released.

2008

With unprecedented demand for products and years of continued growth, a new global HQ is built in Eastcombe, Gloucestershire.

2012

The Aberlink 3D measurement software receives a significant upgrade as MK4 is released to great acclaim.

2014

Due to customer demand, Aberlink launch its largest CMM to date, the Azimuth.

2015

Further growth finds Aberlink expanding once more with a new dedicated R&D building and a large extension to the company's on-site machine shop.

2016

Solidifying the "innovative" in the company's tagline, the world's first successful hexapod CMM the Xtreme is unveiled.

2018

Aberlink celebrate 25 years of innovative metrology.

2020

Aberlink launch two new cutting-edge CMMs, the shop floor hardened, Extol and, the company's most accurate machine to date, Horizon.

2021

Gavin Bailey retires as commercial director after 28 years of continued success. Marcus Eales continues as director of Aberlink.

Jan 2022

Additional directors of Aberlink are assigned; Rachel cook as Managing Director, Ian Rhodes as Product Development Director and Chris Davies as Sales & Marketing Director.

2023

Aberlink celebrates an incredible 30 years of continued success.

Feb 2023

Aberlink launches their brand new manual CMM, the Fulcrum. Aberlink's answer to small form shop-floor inspection.

Jun 2023

Celebrating the overwhelming success of the Axiom Too, Aberlink launch the Limited Edition Axiom Too. Boasting a host of free upgrades over the standard model.

Jul 2023

Aberlink opens it's brand new training and demo facility in South Shields.

Jan 2024

Due to continued growth, Aberlink builds a dedicated paint shop at their gloucestershire site.

Feb 2024

WMH Robotics is appointed as the preferred supplier of automation solutions for Aberlink’s entire CNC CMM range.
