Aberlink's advanced camera system and vision measurement software module, offer a non-contact measuring method on any Aberlink bridge-style CMM.
An innovative design of magnetic, kinematic joint allows a standard touch probe to be swapped with the camera in seconds. This means that components can be easily and quickly inspected using both touch trigger and vision inspection technology on the very same CMM.
The camera incorporates a telecentric lens that gives a distortion-free image on the monitor and also, a fully programmable 16-LED light ring which contains alternate white and UV LEDs.
The white LEDs provide surface illumination in the normal manner while the UV LEDs provide an elegant solution to the problem of backlighting on a CMM - the component to be measured is placed on a plate which reflects the UV light and functions as backlighting.
Measure geometric and complex shapes easily, features, scan profiles and inspect threads using high-accuracy edge detection and high-speed optical scanning. Simulate crosshairs and overlays, and control the camera and light settings, all from within the Aberlink's Vision Software module.
The Vision Software module enhances the capability of Aberlink 3D with a set of powerful vision measurement tools. Featuring fully automatic edge detection tools which can be used in both manual and CNC mode ensuring fast and repeatable results without relying on the skill of the operator.
